Word-Limits Increased to 8,000 for Peer-Reviewed Articles
From today, authors of peer-reviewed research articles have more word capital available to make a greater impact with their writing.
Exchanges is pleased to announce that from today we are raising the word count for peer-reviewed article submissions to 8,000. Following author feedback and discussions with our publisher, we have agreed to raise our word limits for all newly submitted peer-reviewed manuscripts from today (1st May 2025). Our hopes are that this new higher word limit will not only allow authors to contribute more expansive and offer greater insights in their papers, but also where assist them in having papers considered for various research assessment requirements too.
The lower limit (4,000) for manuscripts of this kind remains unchanged, as do the limits for our detailed editorially-reviewed items (critical reflections, conversations & book reviews).
See our blog post for more details on this change, or contact us if you have any questions.
