Call for Associate Editors

Exchanges is recruiting associate editors for our upcoming issue A Woman's Labour. If you are a PhD student or early-career researcher and are interested in issues surrounding gender, women's rights, and social and economic justice, we would love to hear from you! No prior editorial experience is necessary (you will receive training) and the volunteer post will typically require no more than a few hours of your time per week. See below for more:

Associate Editors Opportunity

The journal is currently working towards the production of the issue A Woman’s Labour: Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Work, Health, and Care in collaboration with the Centre of Excellence in Health Inequalities at Buckinghamshire New University. As such, an exciting opportunity has arisen for several associate editors to join and assist in its production. This would likely entail a 9- to 12-month commitment of a maximum of three hours per week working as part of a team of editors. Associate editors engage with a community of both emerging and seasoned scholars from multiple humanities and social science disciplines, gaining opportunities to enhance their international research networks and professional visibility. They also gain highly practical publishing and people-management experience.

Associate editors are sought from the postgraduate arts, humanities and social science communities with specific scholarly interest in the issue’s focus. No prior editorial experience is required, although some familiarity with the publishing process is desirable. Successful applicants will be provided with training, guidance and support throughout their work.

Expressions of Interest 

Formal expressions of interest should be sent to the EIC electronically at the email address below, no later than 7 September 2026 and should include:

·       A 150- to 200-word summary of interest including any relevant experience

·       An academic CV

The Editor-in-Chief (EIC) will select applicants based on the above information. Exchanges reserves the right to close the call sooner if suitable applicants are found. All submissions will be handled in confidence, under the University of Warwick’s best practice guidance for UK data protection legislation.
