In this editorial Exchanges' editor-in-chief introduces the Research Culture 2026 issue, which features Critical Reflections inspired by and drawn from the University of Warwick's 2025 International Research Culture Conference (IRRC2025), organised by the university's National Centre for Research Culture (NCRC). The editorial also features news on the open call for Exchanges' recently announced Navigating Precarity in Higher Education issue, a word on the journal's updated artificial intelligence policy and commentary on the recent tragic death of Cambridge academic Jason Arday.
